Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign Malaga winger Antonio Cordero on a free transfer this summer.

Cordero joined Malaga’s youth system in 2021 and signed his first professional contract the following year, before making his debut for the team’s B or reserve team in September 2023 in a game against Atletico Madrid’s reserve team in the third division.

The Ufabet reported that Barcelona and Real Madrid were both monitoring the development of the 18-year-old winger, but it was Newcastle from England who finally reached a pre-agreement to sign him.
Cordero will join Newcastle on a free transfer this summer when his contract with Malaga expires.
Cordero, who has made 33 appearances across all competitions for Malaga this season, has scored five goals and provided six assists in his breakout campaign.
The youngster has also featured prominently for Spain’s Under-19s, contributing two goals and two assists in six qualifying matches for the European Under-19 Championship.
The teenager visited Tyneside with his family back in January before agreeing to join Newcastle, choosing Eddie Howe’s project over competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
